Ok, bringing this one to life. Since I live in an area where it is cold, I have been seeing more and more guys who are breaking ceramic pieces off of their plugs when going in to boost rapidly. Aft...
That's just weird. I have never had it do that before. I will clear out the peak value and keep that in mind. Wish the datascan were on there when it happened so I could see what was going on.
I would do what was suggested early and have the actual pulleys machined just a lil bit. This will give you better wear on the belts and keep one from coming off on the strip. No water pump for a c...
I have tried the "misaligned" belt routine before and it can cause the belts to jump off the pulleys when bouncing the rev limiter. So I went with a GTiR pulley with a VE/GTiR spacer.
The 60-1 is a great turbo and can make good power. They spool quickly and work best at lower pressure ratios ie lower boost. They can support up to 600whp depending on which one you get.
An SC61 is a nice pick. So is the 60-1. Cheaper than the garrett, though I like my garrett. The 3071 will hit hard around 4k-4.5k. It can make up to 500whp, but it is pushed out of efficiency at th...
You guys would crap if you saw dyno rates around here. We are talking $30 to strap the car down, then $10 a pull after that. Dynojet rent rates are a ludicrous $100/hr, with a big discount over 4 h...
You could do it with the engine in the car. You just have to take the head off, then remove the oil pans. You can even do a hone job with the motor still in the car. It's just a really big PITA on ...
