Cams are here guys. I will be trying to get all dyno runs completed tomorrow... er today now. I will post plenty of pics, don't you worry. Everything will be broken down in the coming days. I am ho...
I will not be testing cam timing, this will be a direct swapover on cams. Though some gains will be available with cam timing, it is just too time consuming to dial in each set.
It is a shim that aligns the shaft. If the shim is wrong you can have issues lining the gears up. there could be slop in the transmission and that shaft could move back and forth. Not good. That sh...
I used a B15 pedal, but just drilled new holes and did some cutting to make it fit. Works awesome. My buddy kevin made this write-up and it works flawlessly.
Yes, don't mess around with the T3 stuff, it doesn't quite flow enough for good power up top. I made decent power, but you can def tell that the housings in T3 are restrictive.
Mine looked like this:

I replaced my ball joints a few weeks ago. Just used the autozone joint. If you go this route, check the box. There are two kinds of joints: Made in China, and Made in Taiwan. Get the Chinese ones,...
On most boosted setups backpressure>boost. Until you go with a large turbo with a free-flowing turbine. On bigger turbos you can get crossover, and can take advantage of the overlap. But too much o...
You will get surge on either. But go 1.06. I did a comparison and the 1.06 performed better throughout the rev range with no extra lag compared to the .78.
I agree. The twin scroll would spool the turbo quickly and @ peak torque is where bp/boost ratio would be ideal. the overlap period could prove for huge gains in the mid-range.
You guys remember this dyno right? SR16 vs the 20V. Boost was very similar, but runs were not back-to-back. I believe this was 13psi or so with the GT30r setup.
I've had useable powerband, it just resulted in broken trannys. Best dyno with the GT30r was 478whp with 438wtq. Powerband made over 400lbft from 4600rpm.
I have yet to see any of the Kelford cams perform any serious gains over the factory VE stuff. Perhaps those people using these cams don't contribute to forums, but it makes me very weary to buy an...
Using a oil drain from an old t4 turbo my buddy had laying around. We had to modify it slightly since I was in a time crunch. But it is just a barbed fitting for a hose to slide on. I have a silico...
That is ok, because I am going to be in the middle of nowhere on the dyno date. So I won't be able to dyno on the 25th like I planned. But the dyno will come shortly after. I think I am going to ta...
I dyno tested the BC stage 2 vs stock as well on a turbo application. It lost bottom end, but the peak gains were similar to the JWT S4. The S4 did awesome.
It's all about managing your pressures correctly. When backpressure (bp) is higher than boost it is beneficial to have less overlap. Setups with close to a 1:1 ration of boost and bp can see good r...
the 2560r is an awesome turbo. It spools really quick. But after talking with a few guys about the power output of the t25 turbos, it makes me wish I lived at sea level. Quicker spooling and a lot...
