I think the SR16 will perform better at mid-range. Def be interesting to see how they compare with this turbo. I am doing the dyno test tomorrow. Remember, this dyno reads a bit lower than dynojet....
spool is about 5500-6000rpm. It feels awesome once you are passed that point. The power after 8k rpm is intense, and sends me bouncing the rev limiter. I can't "feel" when to shift like before. I w...
Nice setup. is that a bottom mount manifold? I want to see that all hooked up. Been interested in bottom mount big turbo setups and how they clear with the block.
The 6 speed gearbox, mated to a p12 bellhousing for the SR engine. Allows the RS6 trans to work on your SR. There are modifications needed. And it isn't cheap. but the transmission is stronger by q...
Didn't Dave Coleman state that lower compression spools turbo faster? Could have sworn he did. My 9.3 compression motor spooled slower on the dyno though. By 2-300rpm compared to the 8.5:1.
I went from 9.3:1 to 8.5:1 and I didn't notice any difference. On the lower compression pistons I was able to run more boost and make more power on 91 pump. I didn't notice any loss of response or ...
SR18 suck. Get a G20 motor or something. They are cheap enough at the junk yard. The SR18 has smaller pistons and smaller valves iirc. I'm no expert. I would stick with SR20.
Also look how far the surge line is pushed up. That would explain why the twinscroll pushes the turbo into surge so much. The fast spool on big boost causes some surge in the mid range. Low boost i...
Elevation sucks. It puts the compressor into a higher PR on the map, which hurt efficiency slightly. But it makes it harder to push the limits of the turbo as well because it is harder to keep the ...
