Surge will be dependent on the boost level being run. So far I experience zero surge until throttle is lifted, then there is slight surge at low rpm when the bov doesn't open.
What is interesting, is the timing is backed off a bit. When the car is on low lobes it feels great. Probably improved. The idle is more stable, believe it or not. It doesn't hunt for idle anymore,...
The 6 speed is sweet. The clutch feels nice and beefy. The transmission is shifting a lot smoother now. And the gearing rocks. 2nd still gets to 70mph+. 75mph at 3000rpm on freeway.
Last time I did it with new plugs I had like 1 spec on the insulator after running 15psi around 400whp. I took the timing down 1*. So I lost like 12-15whp. Needed 16psi to break 400whp after that.
Yea, these ran leaded fuel as well. I couldn't imagine having detonation on only 10psi of boost. I have heard that the spots can form from too high of jetting? I was running rich as a mother! 45psi...
So far, I have yet to time the car. but from what I can feel, the SR16 cams hit a little harder. This could be because of the timing being backed off, and also because the low-lobes are much larger...
The 6262 is a rather large turbine (compared to a similar garrett) but they have a lower trim typically. Either way, with the stock cams I think it is a perfect size. .63 should spool nicely.
Ok, so I went to have the car registered. I had the crank sensor fixed. Long story short, I had 3 codes. Knock sensor. O2 bank 1 sensor 2 circuit malfunction. and P1336 ignition or misfire. The CEL...
This is true. I have been thinking really hard about getting a GTX35r or an HTA3582r and running an ATP 1.06 T3 housing. But that is a lot of dough all at once.
I have thought about it. But the upgrade costs quite a bit. It would def give me extra headroom to meet my power goals. But having a small turbine wheel is still a concern of mine. The GTX3076r cou...
Thanks for the kind comments guys. My wife hates the holes in the hood, and the hood pins. But it has a pretty mean presence in person. It is too loud lol. But the wheels look awesome and the brake...
I wonder how big of a difference 8.5:1 has compared to 9:1 and 9.5:1 compression on the VVL. 9.5:1 on 10psi might make a little more power, but how much? perhaps 5% more power?
