I wouldn't ignore the knock until you know for certain it isn't knocking. Unfortunately, I made this mistake and added too much timing. It cost me a motor in the long run. I run much more conservat...

The cast manifolds are better for the VVL because reversion isn't present to a large extent. The log manifold requires all the exhaust pulses to mingle with each other before making their way into ...

I did back to back testing and posted the results in my blogger a few years back. I have not just tested this on my car, but some other VVL as well. All with garrett turbos except for one with the ...

60-1 is a much larger turbo. With a big turbine. This is the only reason I see 400+whp being made with a log manifold.

My friend had a 60-1 on his G20 and it made 420whp on 13psi with a tubular...

20V cams will be a great addition to my setup. I think the Sr16 cams are great, but really need a bigger turbo and more revs. 20V seem like just the ticket but I love the SR16 cams and they work gr...

gas mileage on low cams I would imagine to be pretty negligible between styles. The VET cams netted me 30+ mpg on freeway driving pretty easily. Remember, the ex side is basically open all the time...

I doubt it. Sorry.

If it doesn't feel like you got rear-ended when VVL kicks, then you are having poor scavenging, caused by reversion. Vadim, whats going on?

Some may know my setup, but let me ...

Do what I did. Source some VET cams and gain 100whp by not doing anything else. Otherwise, spend a lot more money on a tubular manifold and see the same gains.

Actually, my data showed that I only...

Its the log manifold. The VVL cams don't work with a log. Needs VET cams for log mani with .63 housing. Car is likely just as fast by not switching them at all.

i concur, top end is better with open scroll. I may actually try an open housing to see how it does in comparison to the 1.06 ts housing I have now.

The DE pump is not very good. Just saying.

The VE pump is much much better. Not perfect, but as good as could be expected. Much better improvement over the standard DE/DET pump.

I had Miko put some in the head I have now. I think they are the lower springs, but with SR16 cams and a 8800rpm rev limit. I'ts hit 9300rpm before, and no issues.

There are no downsides. Response won't seem to hit as quickly, and the powerband will seem more progressive. Much like NA that is tuned for high rpm. 10-12psi will still make 350whp easily with a 3...
