R12 and R134 are interchangeable. They made them this way for several reasons. Many countries don't have the ban on R12 like the US does. In canada you can buy R12 at wal mart from what I heard.
Well, last night about 10:30 I decided to pull the trans. Well once I got it out, i figured I would just rip this spare SER trans apart and get the FD gear out of it.
Don't forget to mix up your driving. The Catalyst monitor and EGR are both set at cruise speeds over 45. But the EVAP system is set over a series of drive cycles, (trips).
I was thinking about going this week, but my final drive gear is making some unwanted noise. I am going to swap out the diff soon and the problem will be 100% resolved.
Not having the pad contact the whole rotor isn't a total downfall. You still get the higher torque from the increased radius, and more rotor to absorb heat.
You can use your R12 with a 134a compressor. However, keep in mind that the R134a is designed with higher pressures in mind. So your low/high side pressures are going to be a little different using...
Pretty sure you can just plug in all the sensors on the trans. But my knock sensor on the other hand has always thrown a ghost code since I did the 97 JWT computer.
Ya I know a guy locally who swapped the whole Spec V rear beam on his car. I don't think he had any issues. Of course, the 5 lug would be sick to have from a 08+ spec.
Does anyone actually have a CEL on because of this code? It is the sensor on the bottom of the trans by the differential. If it isn't plugged in it will throw this code.
