Did you see the pics? Yes, the pistons were in correctly. I'm not a complete noob lol.

The pics show perfectly that the squirters hit the cutout. The cutout was just put in the wrong place.

checked when assembling and it seemed ok. But it could have easily been overlooked. Looks like the pistons just barely kissed the coolers.

Thanks johnny. I talked to Andreas about my tune long ago, but those fl guys are using the same one and making over 500whp. Not the tune I guess?

I'm finding pretty good deals from everywhere on motors. $700 to $1100 shipped. Ebay has good deals. Local shops can get them for cheap too. Just need to find out whether to buy a whole engine, and...

After seeing this carnage, it makes me understand why I can't seem to make over 450whp. But considering I made 447whp and 402wtq, I am glad to know I made such numbers on such a catastrophe.

I will have them fully checked out. Valves aren't a big deal to me, but the hassle of shims is frustrating to have to deal with again.

This is a good thread. I'd like to know as well. There is a local guy here who has N1 cams, I/H,E, pulleys and makes about 180whp. I feel like he could make more with his setup.

It took about 8 compression strokes to get the numbers I got. It went up about 1/2 way on the first hit, but then it took a lot of cranking to hit my final numbers.

Took the motor out today. Only took 4 hrs. I will have it torn apart tomorrow morning. Hmmmm, I wonder what is causing the low compression?

250whp is easy to make and on the street will be much quicker than an STI depending on the powerband. Disco potato on 8-10psi should dominate an STI.

I like forced scaling. Otherwise the graph looks F*D up. Decent #s though.
