DET pistons will work better. Compression will be around 9.3:1 with the VE head. The factory Nissan gasket from a 20V can be used I am pretty sure. But are you going over-bore?

My compression tester must suck because my perfectly healthy stock VE motor only had 175psi compression. I still made 170whp bone stock.

You may have some serious boost leaks. Try turning your fuel pressure down and smooth out the idle first.
